Battle Pirate Skeletons In The Action-Adventure ‘Trident’s Tale’

by Sage Ashford

Developer 3D Clouds announced a new action-adventure game, Trident’s Tale, for everyone who hasn’t gotten their pirate fix. The new title is entirely self-funded and self-published, but looks to offer a fun, yet story-based alternative to the pirate games we’ve had lately.  Meanwhile, 3D Clouds CEO Francesco Bruschi promises both a 15+ hour story campaign and a massive open-world with crafting, customization, and naval combat in a game with a dynamic weather system.

Trident’s Tale‘s Steam page also promises the ability to recruit a cast where each member has their own special abilities and can be leveled up and gain new skills independently. Meanwhile, combat seems to split between blade, magic, and firearms. For gamers who don’t mind the all-ages look, this seems like the perfect pirate game … if they can pull it off.

Though there’s not much gameplay to look at in this first trailer, the title is still scheduled to launch for Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, Steam, and Nintendo Switch sometime in May.
