Watch This: The First Teaser For STUDIO 4C’s ‘All You Need Is Kill’

All You Need Is Kill is a new anime film from STUDIO 4C based on the sci-fi novel by Hiroshi Sakurazaka. The original story follows a soldier, who, after dying in a battle with extraterrestrials, is caught in a time loop that makes him live the same day repeatedly, allowing him to improve his fighting skills. If that premise sounds familiar, that’s because the novel was already adapted into 2014’s live-action film Edge of Tomorrow (aka, Live. Die. Repeat.). Judging by the trailer, this new film will be culturally closer to the source material while also adding in fresh elements. STUDIO 4C is known for cult anime films like Masaaki Yuasa‘s Mind Game and Tekkon Kinkreet — so I look forward to seeing how they adapt All You Need Is Kill.
