Danville Collides With The Marvel Universe In New ‘Phineas & Ferb’ Variant Covers

by Tony Thornley

Phineas & Ferb was a massive pop culture phenomenon during its first run and later this year, the Disney Television Animation series returns with new episodes. Marvel Comics is getting in on the action, celebrating the return with a new series of variant covers.

Phineas & Ferb chronicled the greatest summer vacation ever, as the titular brothers made sure they were doing SOMETHING every day, their big sister Candace kept trying to bust them, and their pet platypus Perry fought the forces of evil as Agent P. The series still resonates with fans today, and even crossed over with the Marvel Universe and Star Wars in its original run.

In June, artist Jacob Chabot and series co-creator Dan Povenmire reimagine the series leads as some of the Marvel Universe’s greatest heroes. Chabot’s covers for Avengers #27 and X-Men #17 reimagine Strange Tales #167, with Perry in place of Nick Fury, and New Mutants #50, seeing Candace become the ruler of Limbo. Meanwhile Povenmire’s (unrevealed) cover for Fantastic Four #33 will see the boys joined by Isabella and Buford as Marvel’s first family.

Check out Chabot’s covers, and watch for all three in June from Marvel Comics.
