Crowdfunding Now — ‘OMG Cats!’ Brings Feline Fun To The Gaming Table

by Anton Kromoff

Welcome to the table,

I love my cats. I love them so much I spent almost an hour writing this on the notepad of my phone because I was not going to move my “goblin” off my lap so that I could use my laptop to type this up.

Why am I talking about cats in a space where I normally tell you about gaming news? Well it’s because the fine folks over at Wet Ink Games have a new table top creation out titled OMG Cats!.

OMG Cats! is a follow up to its sister title Heckin’ Good Doggos and makes use of the rules-light +One game system found in a handful of other Wet Ink games. What’s rad about the system is that it is really easy to pick up and play. With the tone and art-forward nature of the game, it feels like something you could easily table with teens.

Another really rad bit about the Kickstarter that is currently running is that OMG Cats! comes with everything you need to play. You get the core book, six micro-settings, the Curious Yarns adventure book, a custom cat deck of playing cards with 52 unique cats submitted by backers, and a set of 10 custom Cat Dice for that extra feline flair.

The game was written by TTRPG talent Steffie de Vaan and Liz Chaipradikul with art from illustrator Mike Mumah.

The spirt of this game really delights me as a cat lover and someone who thinks a TTRPG you can table in 90 minutes is a really rad addition to the gaming space. As a fan of the supernatural and strange things that go bump in the night, I was excited to find out that in addition to the scenarios where the tone is normal day to day adventures in the life of a cat, there are also offerings that get a little more into the supernatural spaces. This leans in to the well known folklore that cats are in tune with such things.

I’ve been a fan of Wet Ink games for quite some time now and trust their games to be both fun and intelligently crafted. In a market place where it seems the money for hobbies is getting tighter and tighter the price point and potential fun has me giving a game like OMG Cats! my full endorsement.

You can check it out while it is still funder over on Kickstarter at this link.

Until next time, you can check out more from Wet Ink Games over on their site. Go on… they put out some really rad stuff.
