More from the great sounding/great looking Portland, OR, comic shop Books With Pictures. They’re bringing back their BwP Minicon! for 2025. It kicks off Porland Book Week with exhibitors, art, live music, and events all trhough the day.
Very few details right now, but BwPCon! 2025 applications will open from 31 March 31st to 25 April. More details as we get ’em.
THE CARTOON MUSEUM, LONDON, HOSTING HUGH RAINE (& BETTY AND THE YETI) FOR EASTER HOLIDAY HI-JINKS – 16 APRIL…
Plenty going on, as always, at London’s Cartoon Museum. But here’s one for comic-loving kids (and their parents) looking for things to do this Easter hols. Hugh Raine, whose Betty and the Yeti: Friends At First Fart book is out in December 2025, will be running an Easter holiday comics workshop on 16 April.
Raine will be running his ‘Create a Comic masterclass’ for children aged 7 and up. Plenty of fun, definitely something to keep the kids amused!

A new book from the brilliant Raina Telgemeier and Scholastic in October, Facing Feelings: Inside the World of Raina Telgemeier.
It’s all based on the 2023 Facing Feelings exhibition at The Ohio State University’s Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum. This book will ‘take readers on a journey through Raina Telgemeier’s artistic evolution. It features rare artwork, personal commentary, and an in-depth interview,’ not to mention ‘exploring how Raina’s childhood experiences and artistic influences shaped the bestselling graphic novels Smile, Sisters, Guts, Drama, and Ghosts.’
It’s not hard to see this one being top of the bestseller lists – and that’s both graphic novel and book bestseller lists – through the end of the year!
