Obsession Fueled Revenge On The Undead — ‘Feed Them To The Crows’ Funds On Kickstarter

A young man failed by the system seeks justice for the death of his mother. He’ll get it by driving a stake through the heart of the vampire who killed her.
Feed Them To The Crows, a new three-issue mini-series from the minds of co-writers Mario Candelaria and former Comicon Senior Editor James Ferguson has successfully funded on Kickstarter with a couple days left in the campaign. The horror/thriller comic is illustrated by Daniel Caval, colored by Colin Johnson, and lettered by Tony Riga.
On the cusp of adulthood, Mitch comes face-to-face with the man he blames for the death of his mother; a man he believes is a vampire. No one believes Mitch’s claims except his younger brother, Jake, who idolizes him. A chance encounter sends Mitch down a dark path of vengeance that threatens to ruin Jake’s life and end his own. Obsession has fueled this young man’s life for six long years. Now he’s finally able to put this to rest and avenge his mother.
“Feed Them To The Crows is loosely inspired by shows like Supernatural, but from the perspective of the average person on the outside.” says Ferguson of the project. “It would look pretty weird if two guys rolled into town, started asking questions, then abruptly disappeared after an old neighbor mysteriously died. To everyone aside from Jake, Mitch is a troubled youth who hasn’t come to terms with his mother’s death. He sees his obsession as righteous and doesn’t notice the harm he’s causing to those around him.”
The Kickstarter campaign has already surpassed its initial funding goal and its first stretch goal, unlocking an exclusive short story called Daddy’s Vengeful Little Girl. This never-before-seen short is written by Phillip Butehorn, illustrated by Rodrigo Fernandes, colored by Cryptid Matt, and lettered by Luke W. Henderson.
Backers can receive digital copies of the comic starting at the $5 pledge tier and print copies starting at the $15 pledge tier, selecting from the standard cover by series artist Daniel Caval or the Tales from the Crypt homage cover from Roberto Duque, or both. Previous works from James and Mario are also available as add-ons or discounted bundles. These include Slice(s) of Life, Killchella, A Real Slobberknocker, One True Love, and more.
