Mark Spears Cover Added For ‘Vampirella’ #2 Ahead Of FOC

Just ahead of its FOC date, Dynamite has added a Mark Spears cover in tribute to J. Scott Campbell‘s Amazing Spider-Man #601 image.
Inside, the issue gets into heavy topics like assault, prompting the company to offer a warning about the events of this next chapter in writer Christopher Priest‘s ongoing tale of Vampi coming to terms with motherhood and, seemingly, becoming a despot in a cyberpunk future. Can heavy themes work in such a setting? It’s certainly possible and definitely something Priest specializes in. But take a look at the preview pages below from artist Ergün Gündüz for an idea of what to expect outside of the issue’s more serious moments.
