WizKids Unleashes An Iconic Iconix X-Men HeroClix Collection

I say that a lot. I’m a bald guy who uses a manual wheelchair. It’s not really that surprising that I enjoy putting my hands up to my face like I’m activating my telepath powers and calling my gifted mutants to fight by my side. Normally, doing this results in a laugh from my wife, but thanks to my pals at WizKids my gifted mutants finally showed up!

WizKids has, once again, shown why they are the masters of the collectible game space. Inspired by the iconic Jack “The King” Kirby cover, HeroClix Iconix First Appearance of The X-Men is one of those amazing offerings that really showcases why I say, time and time again, that WizKids is a pillar of the gaming community.

This fantastic set comes packaged in a brilliant book box that opens to reveal a window-box display that gives you a clear view of the mighty mutants contained within.

Cyclops, Jean Grey, Iceman, Beast, Angel, and the master of magnetism Magneto are all captured in their classic costumes ready to field on the gaming table for your next HeroClix game day.

It is a constant delight to find these classic moments treated with such care by the team over at WizKids. What I also really enjoy is the quality of the Clix themselves. The plastic is durable and well painted. It does not make me fear that I will break or snap off wings or optic blasts if I want to put them on the gaming table to recreate iconic scenarios and memorable moments from the X-Men library.

There is also a really charming collectors appeal to these First Appearance sets as they can serve as decor both in and outside of the book-box packaging.

I have more than a few small corners on shelves and desks in my office that are set with HeroClix from comics I have loved throughout my life. These mini mutants are going to live next to my second monitor as I really love the way the yellow and black costumes with pops of comic color mesh with the minimalist design of my desk.

This set is currently out and you should be able to score it at your local gaming shop and wherever you purchase your HeroClix online. It’s going fast though as I am already seeing it disappearing from digital shelves so get yours before they are gone!
