Funko POP! Heralds The Arrival Of The Silver Surfer, Galactus, And The Fantastic Four

I’m the first to tell you I think Reed Richards is a total jerk face. This is coming purely from the comics I have read with him in them. To me he seems like such a awful husband and a terribly egotistical know it all who makes life more difficult for everyone because he can’t dial his nonsense down to a respectable level. Opinions about fictional characters are as subjective as opinions about what the best kind of pizza is or what color tooth brush gets your teeth the cleanest. I’m sure someone has done a middle school science fair project on both but at the end of the day you like what you like and that’s okay.

SOME SPOILERS AHEAD

Speaking of Reed Richards, there is a new Fantastic Four movie coming soon and my pals at Funko are dropping a new set of Funko POP! based on Marvel’s First Family.

There are some cool pieces in this set but the Invisible Woman with Franklin is absolutely adorable. It’s wild to me they are even thinking of introducing Franklin into the MCU. That kid is a reality bending cosmic god in almost every incarnation I have seen of him and that could create some real strange plot points in the cinematic world but more than likely will just result in another animated series or live action show.

There is of course the Human Torch who looks very “flame on” in his bobble head form. I dig the yellow boots way more than I thought I would on this paint job.

Mister Fantastic has a very Tony Stark thing going on with that mustache. I’m so use to that clean shaved long face and I tend to avoid Fantastic Four books because of the aforementioned dislike of Reed so I’m curious to see how the characterization in the films is going to go.

They of course have the “ever loving blue eyed Thing” though in this form he seems to have black eyes not blue. That is throwing me a bit but the costume looks great and I dig the rock surface.

There is a trench coat variant as well that honestly feels like it is going to look rad on so many desks across the world.

We have the new MCU version of the Silver Surfer. As a fan of the Power Cosmic, I am really curious to see how they do this storyline in the movie and if they ever plan on bringing in the Norrin Radd version of the character in at any point.

Last but most certainly not least is the Galactus Fantastic Four Funko POP! I think it looks rad but the muted colors for some reason take me out of it a bit. I think the render could just not being doing it justice so I am waiting for the actual POP! before I give my final judgment on how this one looks.

Until next time, I think this movie could be super cool just for the vibes it is giving in the trailer but I have disliked Reed since I was a little kid so only time will tell if they can sell me on the character.
