Pierre-Alexandre Comtois Hits The Road This Month With ‘Sunder’

With Sunder Vol. 1: Small Beginnings now available in both paperback and hardcover formats, Mad Cave Studios has revealed a trailer of the teen fantasy graphic novel, and has announced a forthcoming book tour.

When a mysterious book appears in the library of a young monk named Zeek, he must embark on a quest to find its rightful owner. Unbeknownst to him, another dark figure has been searching for this very book for a very long time, sending his minions across the known planets and using dark magic to find it at all costs. When this evil figure realizes the manuscript has finally resurfaced, it sets events in motion that will send Zeek on an adventure unlike anything he could have ever imagined–leading Zeek to discover his true identity and destiny.

Readers are invited to meet Pierre-Alexandre Comtois on tour as he celebrates the release of his graphic novel; a blend of cinematic storytelling, European comics tradition, and unforgettable characters. With over two decades of experience in animation, Comtois has left his mark on major hits like Trolls, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and The Addams Family. Now, with Sunder Vol. 1: Small Beginnings, he brings that same visual dynamism and emotional resonance to the page, joined by colorist Mark Englert and letterer Buddy Beaudoin.

Following a successful initial release, this tour marks a new chapter for the book; inviting fans to dive deeper into Comtois’ creative process to discover the heart behind his bold, beautifully illustrated world.
