WizKids Summons Up Pathfinder’s ‘Diabolic Dragon’ Boxed Miniatures

Welcome to the table,

Dragons are an iconic part of most major fantasy table top role playing games. The lore behind them is as varied as the kinds of dice that can be rolled to dictate their breath weapons. Paizo has some delightfully dense lore in their Pathfinder setting. My pals at WizKids have a new devilish dragon coming out that really captures my curiosity and sent my storytelling skills into full effect spinning a new scary encounter I can’t wait to drop at my table.

While still in renders, the diabolical dragon in question is the Pathfinder Battles: Diabolic Dragon Boxed Miniature.

This dragon is really rad. The lore has it set to be an extension of the plane of Hell itself and that is very apparent in the creatures appearance. With its massive horns, ragged leather wings, and wicked looking talons the Diabolic Dragon really seems like a denizen of hell ready to hoard souls and soul contracts like dragons of the material plane hoard treasure.

In addition to just collecting the souls, what intrigues me about these demonic dragons is the fact they could easily snatch the souls of those who were drawn into the pit and set them off to do their bidding in the hell realms for whatever purpose be it freedom from torture, eternal damnation, or guilt.

The sculpt looks like it is going to be really rad. The idea of a evil benefactor, regardless of the players alignments, is an intriguing one that has a ton of play potential. All in all, this one is kind of a must have for me and I can’t wait to get my hands on one. You can pre-order your own at this link.
