ICYMI: ‘Alien: Earth’ Trailer Prepares For A Surprise Invasion

After so much speculation, FX unleashed a full trailer for the upcoming Alien: Earth TV series yesterday. Set while the USCSS Nostromo is still on its long haul in deep space, it proposes a tale in which another Weyland-Yutani vessel crashes on Earth. A synthetic with a seemingly human mind volunteers to explore the crash site, but what she finds there may spell the end of the human race. Will her hybrid status maker her feel uneasy about the potential extinction event contained in the ship? Check out the trailer and decide for yourself:
Spearheaded by Legion‘s Noah Hawley, this is one of the most exciting things to happen to Alien in a long time. Yes, I did enjoy Alien: Romulus, comparing it favorably to a Dark Horse Aliens comic, but Alien: Earth has the potential to be as startling and thought-provoking as Legion was for an X-Men story. I’m also quite intrigued by the idea of a synthet artificial person with a human mind. And what about a planet ruled by squabbling corporations like Weyland-Yutani? After all these years, Alien is finally making its way to Earth and it looks like a blast.
Alien: Earth debuts August 12th on FX.
