Humble Opinion Piece: Sometimes All We Can Do Is Help Out Where We Can
by Anton Kromoff
Welcome to the table,
The world seems to be full of some not-so-delightful news right now. I try to stay on the path of positivity, and my understanding of the legal systems and the larger machines that twist and turn the gears of society is way more limited than my understanding of dice, demons, and little plastic war-mongers hellbent on smacking each other with chain swords.
However, even with my limited grasp on it all, the news of what Dynamite Entertainment is going through right now feels especially bad.
As Diamond Distributors was going through all the bankruptcy dealings, Dynamite found themselves in a really tough spot. Because of the whole situation, it was trying to fast-track a hearing over a large sum of money they are owed. One would assume they were trying to speed things up on the legal side because they have employees and bills, and the money they are owed could be used to cover those costs and stabilize things in a world that has become very unstable.
The unfortunate thing is that the motion to expedite things has been denied; an action that seems like it would add a lot of stress to an already stressful situation and leave the always easy-to-work-with team over at Dynamite in an uncomfortable and anxiety-inducing position.
Now, I don’t pretend to know legal stuff, … but I know hungry. I know stress over money. I know what it’s like to have an employer not pay me because they can’t, because other forces are in play. I know what that does to motivation and what that does to families, and the long-lasting damage that it can cause mentally and emotionally to people who for the rest of their lives no matter how good things seem to be, will always dread their inbox or a text message ding informing them that money they need to count on is not going to be there.
So, in light of everything in the world, I’m thinking it could be a cool idea to do what we can to help out if we can. The Dynamite shop is at this link.

They are also doing an epic Humble Bundle in collaboration with Disney that supports First Book , a nonprofit that provides new books and educational resources to programs and schools serving children in need. By making new books and resources available on an ongoing basis.

You can check out that rad comic bundle at this link.
I may just be wearing my heart on my sleeve here, but if you have the coin or even the energy to share this around it could be cool to help out some folks caught up in a rough situation. On the surface, it just seems like comics, but when you start really thinking about it, it probably causes some worry and stress to all those people who keep those comics moving.
Until next time, be kind to each other … the night is dark and full of terrors.
