Welcome To Fantastic Four Week At Comicon.com

Sixty-four years ago, four adventurers boarded an experimental rocket, blasting into an unknown future. Now, later this week, the quartet of heroes returns to theaters as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and to celebrate, the Comicon.com brings you Fantastic Four week!
After years of publishing western, sci-fi and monster comics, Marvel Comics made a massive leap in November of 1961, publishing a new superhero series called Fantastic Four. The series from Jack Kirby and Stan Lee was a massive hit and led into the new era of Marvels.
Since then, the Fantastic Four is one of Marvel’s stalwart flagship titles. The series has seen the biggest names in comics writing and drawing it (sometimes at the same time). Aside from Stan and Jack’s massive run — which held a record for the longest continuous comics run by a single creative team for around forty years- the creative roster has included comics luminaries like Roy Thomas, Marv Wolfman, Gerry Conway, George Perez (in his first published Marvel work), John Romita Sr., John Buscema, John Byrne, Walt Simonson, Tom DeFalco, Alan Davis, Carlos Pacheco, Chris Claremont, Salvador Larroca, Jeph Loeb, Mark Waid, Mike Wieringo, J. Michael Straczynski, Bryan Hitch, Jonathan Hickman, Steve Epting, Matt Fraction, Mark Bagley, Dan Slott, Sara Pichelli, and currently Ryan North and Humberto Ramos.
That’s probably the most powerhouse creative pedigree in comics history, without a doubt.
Fantastic Four has been and remains one of the most creatively imaginative and exciting superhero comics for decades. They’re more than heroes — Reed, Ben, Sue and Johnny are adventurers, scientists, and explorers. They’re truly the world’s greatest heroes, and we’re excited to talk about why all week.
