The EXP And ComicsPRO Plan ‘Giant-Sized Super Cast’ For Local Comic Shop Day

by Erik Amaya

As part of the festivities surrounding Local Comic Shop Day — scheduled for Saturday, September 27th — The Experience (aka The EXP) and trade organization ComicsPRO are planning special broadcast called Giant-Sized Super Cast. Airing on The EXP broadcast channels, the day begins before comic shops open on the East Coast and end just as stores close in the west. The roughly 18 hours of video in between will feature “interviews, panels, discussions, virtual store tours, and live drop-ins to participating shops.”

“The EXP has always had a shared purpose with ComicsPRO, to promote and strengthen the local comic shop, while providing a local comic shop like experience to those who don’t have access to a shop in their community,” Executive Producer at the EXP Kyle Northrop said in a statement. “By joining together, we hope to connect customers to shops they may not have heard of and shops to customers who may never have an opportunity to visit in person,”

“We are so excited to be teaming up with The Experience for this year’s Local Comic Shop Day — the annual event that celebrates local comic shops and the communities they create,” added Vice President of ComicsPRO Shannon Live, who also serves as co- chair of Local Comic Shop Day. “The Experience, with its livestream of comic themed programming, will help us spread the message that the local comic shop is a cultural hub – where creativity thrives, friendships are formed, and stories come to life.”

Giant-Sized Super Cast will be available to stream on Facebook, YouTube, Twitch and Instagram.
