‘Star Trek’ Rose Parade Float Announces Participating Talent

Star Trek is setting course for the Tournament of Roses Parade with some of its key talent at the helm.
With the storied film and television mainstay celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2026, the year begins with a special Rose Parade float. And as Star Trek organizers announced on Monday, it will feature some of the stars who made the various Star Trek series fan favorites across six-decades. The headliner, of course, is the Internet’s favorite Original Series actor George Takei, best known as Hikaru Sulu in TOS and its film series, but also known as a source of laughs, reflection, and serious messages via his social media accounts. Joining him on the float are two standouts from more recent Trek programs: Star Trek: Strange New Worlds‘ Rebecca Romijn and Star Trek: Discovery‘s Tig Notaro. While the former will be seen as Commander Ona Chin-Riley in the remaining two seasons of Strange New World‘s Notaro’s Commander Jett Reno will return in the upcoming Star Trek: Starfleet Academy. That series will also be represented on New Year’s Day by Karim Diané, who plays Klingon Starfleet cadet Jay-den Kraag.
As with the varied talent, the float itself — designed by artist John Ramirez and brought to life by Artistic Entertainment Services — both looks back at sixty years of Trek with nods to Vasquez Rocks (and other iconic locales) and celebrates the future with Starfleet Academy receiving a prominent shoutout in the design (above).
The series is set to debut in early 2026 while the fourth season of Strange New Worlds is expected to beam down later in the year. The Rose Parade takes place January 1st, 2026.
