Dark Horse Announces ‘Miss Truesdale And The Rise Of Man’

Welcome to the table,
I love the Hellboy Universe. With the exception of maybe one book in the last 20 years, I have liked every offering I have read across the core series and various spinoffs. In that landscape of phenomenal storytelling, one of the titles that really captured my imagination is 2023’s Miss Truesdale and the Fall of Hyperborea.
I am beyond excited to relay to you, dear readers, that Mike Mignola and artist Jesse Lonergan are collaborating to continue this series with a new four-issue miniseries titled Miss Truesdale and the Rise of Man.
The series is going to be written by Mignola, with art by Lonergan, and letters by Clem Robins. I’m going to have to figure out how to get the covers and variant covers because Things From Another World is gone now, and I need to order them all like I did the original run.
“My ending the Hellboy world (sort of) in the B.P.R.D. series, I now find myself fascinated by the very beginnings of it,” said Mignola. “Miss Truesdale and the Rise of Man is not a story I would even attempt to tell without the storytelling genius of Jesse Lonergan. For me, coming up with the story was a rollercoaster of strange surprises and Jesse has made it even stranger, more beautiful than I could have imagined. This is the deepest dive yet into the world and how it all works.”
Aside from the phenomenal art and the captivating story, was that Miss Truesdale felt like it showed bits of the lore of the Hellboy universe we had never seen and really leaned into some next-level mythology around these characters I have loved the majority of my life.
The 22-page Miss Truesdale and the Rise of Man #1 is due out on Deecember 10, 2025 from Dark Horse Comics, and I will be there. However, I cannot figure out how to make sure I’m getting every issue and alt cover into my hands.
