‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Movie Trilogy Oozing Onto 4K And Blu-ray From Arrow Video

Cowabunga, nostalgia-fueled physical media collectors! All three of the 1990s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles films are nunchucking their way to 4K UHD and Blu-ray from Arrow Video.
After being spawned in the pages of black & white indie comics and turned into Saturday morning cartoon icons, 1990’s relatively gritty Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles brought Mikey, Donnie, Raph and Leo to the silver screen in live-action form courtesy of director Steve Barron and the eye-popping animatronics of Jim Henson’s Creature Shop. It also stars Judith Hoag, Elias Koteas, and, in one of his first roles, future Oscar winner Sam Rockwell (“Regular or menthol?”).
The 1991 sequel Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze brings the foursome back to explore their origins and their lifelong friendship with Vanilla Ice. 1993’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III sends them back in time to feudal Japan for a pretty forgettable adventure.
All three films feature brand new 4K restorations sourced from the original 35mm elements. The first film is presented in original lossless stereo and remixed Dolby Atmos surround, while both sequels can be heard in original lossless stereo and remixed DTS-HD MA 5.1 surround.
Extras will include brand new director’s commentaries for all three films, new cast and crew interviews, a bound collector’s booklet, and reversible sleeves featuring original artwork by Florey. More special features to be announced on September 26th. An Arrow store exclusive version also includes additional reversible sleeves featuring original artwork by Matt Frank and Roberto Rivera Padro.
The trilogy will drop sometime in December, with the exact release date to be revealed soon.
