Jim Rugg joins me in the virtual panel room to discuss the self-publishing collective known as Power Pulp Comics. He outlines some of the challenges comics makers face – like getting a comic done and into stores — and how pooling resources can help. We also discuss the issues with Diamond and how Power Pulp is also working as its own distributor. Rugg explains why he returned to self-publishing even with an established career in mainstream comics. The way labor is divided between the collective participants is also explained and how they foster a sense of community.
