Dynamite’s ‘The Wizard Of Oz’ Adaptation Goes To Kickstarter

by Erik Amaya

Dorothy — and her little dog, too — are headed to Kickstarter.

Dynamite announced Tuesday that Soo Lee‘s comic adaptation of the 1939 The Wizard of Oz is headed to the crowdfunding platform. Working from the original screenplay by Noel Langley, Florence Ryerson, and Edgar Allan Woolf, Lee’s take on the tale will feature both favorite moments from the film and material that didn’t make the final cut. Will the cut “Jitterbug” dance number finally get its moment in the sun?

The 128-page graphic novel will also feature contributions from the likes of Eric Shanower — himself no stranger to the Land of Oz — Jae Lee, and Alex Ross. Each offers a cover backers can choose as their glimpse into this vision of Oz. Other options include softercover, hardcover, and signed editions.

Those interested in funding the project can head to The Wizard of Oz‘s Kickstarter landing page.
