Reviewing Marvel HeroClix Iconix: Heralds of Galactus
by Anton Kromoff
Welcome to the table,
If you are looking for some joy-filled Power Cosmic lore strained through the sifter of half-remembered childhood memories, have I got a treat for you!
I’m a big fan of the way HeroClix can so perfectly capture some of my favorite comic characters in miniature form. The Marvel HeroClix Iconix: Heralds of Galactus were a surprise in the sense that I always expect the highest quality of miniatures and collectables from my pals at WizKids. Still, I was not expecting the level of care and attention to design that was given to the box.

These HeroClix are such fun representations of the Heralds we know and love.

Each has so much character, and the semitransparent elements really sell the “cosmic” aspect of these space-themed warriors. While this box set does not come with the towering “Eater of Worlds” himself, his presence looms over these minis from every aspect of the box.

While the front of the box feels considerably more streamlined and modern, the back of the box feels much more classically cosmic, with the iconic Kirby Krackle and bright colors that make these stories memorable to me.

While I don’t get a chance to play HeroClix much, these are the kinds of collectables I love to have on my shelf, as they really capture the iconic bits of comic culture that I love. Wait! Is that why they are called Iconix?!
