Dynamite’s ‘Zootopia’ Gets Collected Ahead Of Movie Sequel Release

Officers Hopps and Wilde are reporting for duty again.
Dynamite announced Tuesday a collected edition of their Zootopia comic book series. Writer Jeff Parker and artist Alessandro Ranaldi return readers the anthropomorphic metropolis where the Zootopia Police Department face odd crimes that only Hopps and Wilde can solve. This time, the pair must “discover the disturbing pattern underlying these seemingly unrelated incidents, following the clues and case all the way to the last place they’d ever expect.”
When the series was first announced last year, Parker said, “The team and I know how eager the audience has been for more stories in the world of Zootopia and we thank Disney for giving us the chance to tell them. Readers are going to love how Alessandro brings Judy and Nick to life, you can truly hear their voices as you read. Speaking of that, all I have to do to get Nick Wilde’s voice right is imagine editor Nate Cosby saying anything. And don’t worry, there’ll be plenty of the booming Chief Bogo! Zootopia has so much potential for more crime-solving animal adventure, I hope this is just the tip of the iceberg for the Dynamite Disney comics.”
The writer also told our Scott Redmond about some the themes embedded in Hopps and Wilde’s latest case.
The collected edition contains all six issues of the series and the various covers — that’s 160 pages in a digest-size volume. It hits stands on October 13th, a month before Zootopia 2 arrives in theaters.
