December’s ‘X-Men Of Apocalypse’ #2 Finds Them Face To Face With The Original X-Men

Marvel Comics’ X-Men of Apocalypse launched this week with an Alpha issue and an unexpected mission. In December’s X-Men of Apocalypse #2, that mission continues in an unexpected place … or more accurately, time.
X-Men of Apocalypse Alpha launched this week, revealing the X-Men of Earth-295, AKA the Age of Apocalypse, have a mission to save their timeline. It turns out that mission might spell the end of the prime Earth timeline, Earth-616. To accomplish their goals, the X-Men have to jump around the timeline of Earth-616 to save their reality.
In December’s X-Men of Apocalypse #2, that mission brings these battle-hardened X-Men face to face with the strangest teens of them all. Can the original five X-Men hold their own again their darker counterparts?
“It’s so much fun revisiting the first issue of the X-Men from 1963,” series writer Jeph Loeb shared. “Stan Lee and Jack Kirby were at the height of their powers creating these legendary characters that are still dominate pop culture today! I love the original cast — young and full of hope — and that’s what makes going up against the X-Men of Apocalypse so astonishing.
