Dynamite will soon have a new way to get comics to readers.
The company announced Tuesday it will distribute its titles via Neon Ichiban, the service spearheaded by David Steinberger and Chip Mosher. Although currently in a private, invite-only test phase, the platform will open a public beta soon. Dynamite will position its library of comics and upcoming releases as the service gears up for launch, joining publishers like Dark Horse, DC, DSTLRY, Kodansha, Marvel, Oni Press, Titan Comics, and Vault Comics. The company’s titles will include The Boys, ThunderCats, Red Sonja, James Bond, Army of Darkness, Space Ghost, the various Disney titles, Vampirella, and more.
When the service goes live, it will offer “same-day-as-print” comics, manga, collections, and graphic novels with options for variants like sketch covers and other limited editions in the digital space. Files can be downloaded for offline reading and special “digital signatures” and remarques will be enabled for participating publishers, making the files unique for collecting and reselling purposes. Neon Ichiban will also integrate its own secondary market to help facilitate sales and trading.
In a statement, Dynamite CEO and publisher Nick Barrucci said, ““Dynamite has always been committed to world building and delivering unforgettable stories, from redefining icons like Vampirella, ThunderCats and Red Sonja to breakout hits like The Boys and many other iconic characters … Partnering with Neon Ichiban lets us expand that legacy and bring our comics to fans worldwide on the most innovative digital platform.”
“Dynamite has been a perpetual gamechanger of comics and pop culture, redefining legacy franchises and launching bold new ones,” Steinberger added. “Now fans everywhere can digitally dive into some of the most popular comics of the past two decades.”
Additionally, Mosher said, “Dynamite has spent 20 years blending timeless characters with bold creator-owned titles … We’re excited to bring their incredible lineup to an even bigger global audience.”
