‘Barbaric’ Returns With A New Minseries From Vault Comics

by Olly MacNamee
Vault Comics announces a new, fifth story arc of Barbaric, by co-creators Michael Moreci and Nathan Gooden. Barbaric: The Long Death will launch this December with its usual mix of sword, sorcery and satire with Fabi Marques on colours, Jim Campbell on letters, and Tim Daniel on design.

Barbaric loves you! Axe loves you! And he’s giving you his heart, in the form of The Long Death #1. Our heroes slaughter their way ever closer to the answers to their big questions. Owen learns all about his curse; Soren learns about her curse; Axe gets drunk. The consequences are … barbaric.”

Speaking of this best-selling barbarian’s return, writer Moreci stated:

“So excited that Barbaric is back once again. The stakes have never been bigger for Owen, Soren, and Axe – we’re digging deeper into each of their pasts, which will inevitably inform their futures. A lot of changes are in store and, as always, it’s going to be epic, it’s going to be bloody, it’s going to be Barbaric!”

Coming fresh off his work on Post Malone‘s Big Rig, Gooden added:

“I am so excited to get Barbaric back into the market. I was thrilled to be a part of Post Malone’s Big Rig creative team and learned a ton in the process. With the continuation of Barbaric, I will be applying some of what I learned to the new pages. The thing that has me most excited for the return is the addition of a new character that is unbelievably funny but important to the back story of our heroes Owen and Soren. Mike Moreci has really upped the stakes with action and drama pouring out on almost every page.”

Barbaric: The Long Death #1is out this December featuring variants from artists Pete Carroll, Jim Mahfood, Luana Vecchio, Corin Howell, and Brett Bean.
