‘Star Wars: Visions’ Volume 3 Trailer Reveals Yet More Startling Images

Star Wars: Visions is one of the more curious Star Wars projects in the Disney era. The first volume was, like The Animatrix before it, an attempt to bring leading Japanese anime studios into the Star Wars galaxy. The short films were quite compelling. The second volume expanded the scope to animation firms from around the world — complete with a short produced by Aardman — generating some well-regarded stories. But for the third volume, Japan takes the lead once again with some more startling takes on the concepts and the first sequel shorts of the series.
The studios involved this time include Kamikaze Douga + ANIMA, Kinema citrus Co., Polygon Pictures, Production I.G, Project Studio Q, TRIGGER, and WIT STUDIO. And as mentioned above, the Ronin returns for another short, as does Kara from “the Ninth Jedi” ahead of her own spinoff series. But beyond continuing storylines, the other shorts look to push the boundaries of what Star Wars can look like even further than the earlier volumes. We also can’t help but notice how some of these scenarios could lead to further stories. Then again, that’s how Star Wars works.
