UVS Games Reveals Their 2026 Roadmap For ‘UniVersus’
by Anton Kromoff
Welcome to the table,
UniVersus always impresses me when they get their hands on an IP, take their time, and put in the effort to do something really cool with it. Time after time, we have seen them announce an upcoming deck in their lineup, and it’s felt incredibly ambitious … only for them to deliver on the quality and prestige the IP in question deserves. Cowboy Bebop, Street Fighter, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Critical Role, and more have been showcased in their cards through both base and alternative art. Each time, it feels like a mini pop culture art gallery show at the gaming table.
Their recently unveiled 2026 roadmap shows no signs of the momentum stopping. Let’s get into it…
Kicking off a milestone year for the franchise — the 20th anniversary of the UniVersus game engine — UVS Games unveiled the 2026 release slate, showcasing the experience and brand they have built in a way that feels very dialed in for the brand. There is a solid mix of fighting franchises, top anime, and my favorite, Godzilla, coming to the table across 2026.
Sets we currently know of include King of Fighters XV Challenger Series, a Godzilla Booster Set I can’t wait for, a new My Hero Academia Challenger Series, a Tekken 8 Booster Set, a Street Fighter 6: Part Deux Challenger Series, and a Fairy Tail Booster Set that is sure to be a fan favorite in the Fairy Tail circles.

UVS is really setting up to make 2026 a milestone year with fighting game icons, kaiju, anime, and manga favorites hitting the tables and collectors’ binders.
I’m sure, as 2025 draws to a close, there will be more news, insights, and delights coming from UniVersus. As someone who loved what they did with the My Hero Academia sets, has all the Godzilla cards I have been able to find, and frequently plays with my Critical Role decks, I can’t wait for updates to old favorites and looks at new franchises they have partnered with.
