NYCC 2025 – Critical Role And Titmouse Unveil ‘The Mighty Nein’ Trailer
by Anton Kromoff
Welcome to the table,
Check this out…
The Mighty Nein animated series trailer has dropped. I knew it was coming, and I knew it was going to be amazing. I was just not expecting it to be as amazing as it actually is now that it has arrived.
I adore the first table of characters we saw from the gang over at Critical Role. There was something so natural and chaotic about those early days of streaming actual play, where these self-proclaimed “nerdy ass voice actors” were just playing Dungeons & Dragons with their friends around the table and inviting the world along to watch as the story unfolded.
When the party embarked on campaigning two though, it stopped feeling like hanging out in the back of a gaming shop and listening to a table rolling dice, and started to really feel like a reality show. Oh, for sure, there was a ton of improvisation and table talk, but with campaign two, Critical Role really transformed from people playing a game we were watching to people performing for their global audience, and with that, everything felt more locked in, paced, and structured with an audience in mind.
That break between playing to play and playing to perform is going to provide a super solid animated series that I can’t wait to see play out on the small screen.

The trailer was released today by Prime Video and showcases the work done by Critical Role and Titmouse. The series is set to premiere on November 19 on Prime Video, in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. I am sure is going to break some kind of record somewhere as it seems the audiance for Critical Role content is ever growing as new people discover the fandom and veteran fans dive back into the stories that drew them to Critical Role in the first place.
The trailer itself was revealed during the series’ New York Comic-Con panel titled Critical Role & Prime Video: A Decade of Adventure and The Animated World of Exandria. The panel featured cast and executive producers Laura Bailey, Matthew Mercer, Marisha Ray, Liam O’Brien, Ashley Johnson, Taliesin Jaffe, Sam Riegel, and Travis Willingham as they engaged in an exclusive conversation about what’s next in their expanding universe.
Panel attendees got the inside scoop on the upcoming animated series, an exclusive look at the series trailer, and a special look ahead at Campaign Four of Critical Role’s flagship show. Prime Video also revealed additional guest cast for The Mighty Nein, which includes Academy Award Winner Anjelica Huston, Lucy Liu, Nathan Fillion, T’Nia Miller, Felicia Day, Graham McTavish, and Ivanna Sankho.
The celebration of ten incredible years of storytelling culminated with a surprise appearance from Wayne Brady, who will be joining The Legend of Vox Machina Season Four as Taryon Darrington, something that honestly surprised and delighted me.
