All You Need Is Kill is a new anime film from STUDIO 4C based on the sci-fi novel by Hiroshi Sakurazaka. The story follows a woman named Rita. After dying in a battle with extraterrestrials, she is caught in a time loop that makes her live the same day repeatedly, allowing Rita to improve her fighting skills.
The novel was already adapted as 2014’s live-action film Edge of Tomorrow (aka Live. Die. Repeat.). The original story followed the relationship between a male and female solider who are both stuck in the time loop. But we may be getting the story from her perspective for the first time. STUDIO 4C’s colorful visuals and stunning animation should make for a compelling adaptation of All You Need Is Kill.
