The trailer for Sirocco and the Kingdom of the Winds gives me the similar vibe as Arco.
Here’s the description: Agnès, Juliette and Carmen’s neighbour, writes children’s storybooks that take place in a fantasy world, The Kingdom of the Winds. The intrepid sisters discover a passageway between their world and this extraordinary universe. Once on the other side, the girls take on the appearance of cats and discover Sirocco, a terrifying character who can control the wind.
That Arco vibe should come as no surprise because both films are French animation clearly influenced by Studio Ghibli. I’ve been singing the praises of French animation for years. Creature Commandos, Arcane, and Primal were all animated by French animation studios. People who are on the inside track clearly see the artistic potential of French animation and GKids has always delivered unique international animated films. Animation fans with a love of the avant garde should check out Sirocco and the Kingdom of the Winds.
