Monstrous Books To Publish First ‘Creepshow’ Prose Anthology In 2026

As well as a Shudder TV show and several Skybound/Image comic book series, Creepshow will now crossover menacingly into the world of prose with the first-ever collection of short stories of shock, horror and suspense.
James Aquilone’s Monstrous Books and Evoke Entertainment are to publish Creepshow: 13 Tales of Terror, containing 13 original prose stories from acclaimed writers Aquilone (Kolchak: The Night Stalker), David Avallone (Elvira: Mistress of the Dark), Simon Bestwick (Best Horror of the Year), Nancy A. Collins (Swamp Thing, Blade Runner, Sonja Blue), Dennis Crosby (Weird Tales), Keith R.A. DeCandido (Supernatural Crimes Unit, Star Trek, Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Gwendolyn Kriste (2024 Bram Stoker Award for Best Novel for The Haunting of Velkwood), Jonathan Maberry (V-Wars), Lisa Morton (The Best American Mystery Stories 2020), Steve Niles (30 Days of Night), Nick Roberts (The Exorcist’s House), Thomas E. Sniegoski (Hellboy, Vampirella), and Tim Waggoner (Terrifier, Halloween Kills novelizations).
George A. Romero and Stephen King’s 1982 film Creepshow has certainly endured amongst fans old and new. And with the quality of writers involved, this looks like a good read. For someone like me who finds it more and more difficult to find time to invest in reading a novel, this kind of collection of short stories is perfect reading for someone like me.
Creepshow: 13 Tales of Terror will feature a cover from Russ Braun (The Boys, Kolchak: The Night Stalker), and each story will be accompanied by a full-page piece of art featuring The Creep from EV Cantada.
Hinting at the broad range of horror on offer, writer and editor Aquilone said:
“Each story is a macabre celebration of Creepshow’s legacy. We’ve assembled a can’t-miss anthology, with morality tales of terror, justice, and cosmic retribution, all told with the Creep’s ghoulish grin.”
Creepshow: 13 Tales of Terror is out as an ebook, paperback, and hardcover on May 19th, 2026, wherever books are sold.
