Pearl Abyss Introduces Us To The ‘Crimson Desert’ Open World Of Pywel

Pearl Abyss is just two months away from launching their next major project: the open-world action title Crimson Desert.  While they’ve been everywhere showing the game off, the developer also started a new series of overview trailers. Their first Features Overview trailer, entitled “Kliff & The Open World of Pywel”, sets up some of the game’s core narrative. Thus far, the little we’ve known has been all about protagonist Kliff’s attempt to gather together what remains of his group, the Greymanes. This new trailer explains more of the advanced technology we’ve seen in the game while also exploring more of Kliff’s mission.  The technology comes from a location known as “the abyss”, and it falls to Kliff to gather those items and keep them from being misused.

The 15-minute gameplay trailer features a few new major pieces of information: players will be able to control two additional characters outside of Kliff. These other characters will be playable outside of the main story, and each feature their own combat styles, skills, and weapons.  Secondly, the video also provides a glimpse of Crimson Desert‘s five different regions: Hernand, Pailune, Demeniss, Delesyia, and the eponymous Crimson Desert, which each offer their own narratives aside from the main storyline.

Crimson Desert launches on Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam on March 19th.
