‘A Fighter’s Nova: Mindara’ Combines The Worlds Of RPGs and Fighting Games

by Sage Ashford

As JRPG-style games have become more common, it’s become harder for individual titles to stand out. Yet, developer BadRez Games has come up with a brilliant new path by merging the JRPG with literal fighting game mechanics in their new game — A Fighter’s Nova: Mindara.

It follows Maya and Mindara, two martial artists whose goals both lead them to a martial arts tournament within a hidden city. According to BadRez themselves, every encounter in A Fighter’s Nova plays out like a 2v2 fighting game match, complete with chain combos and the ability to pull off cool tag-team attacks. As if that’s not interesting enough, they also plan to allow for players to play solo or take on challenges with their friends in co-op mode.

Currently, the game is planning to go into Kickstarter soon, with a planned release date of 2028.
