Sound Check — Previewing ‘The Dungeons & Dragons: Dungeon Masters Official Soundtrack’

It’s been a second, but even pop culture journalists get caught up in the webwork of life, liberty, and the pursuit of staying above water.
I’m back at the table, though, and delighted to bring you news of a new Dungeons & Dragons sonic experience. Let’s get into it!
While the reasoning behind the creation of actual play series varies from play group to play group, the conveyed intent behind the official Dungeons & Dragons Actual Play series Dungeon Masters has always been to show the power of immersive storytelling in the D&D space. This is being done by showcasing how official canonical material from D&D can be used to build unique stories, powerful moments at the table, and challenging experiences for both new players and those who have been around for an edition or three.
If you are not familiar with Dungeon Masters, the first few episodes are currently available at this link. The series talent includes Jasmine Bhullar as the Dungeon Master, along with players Mayanna Berrin, Christian Navarro, Neil Newbon, and Devora Wild. Bhullar really impressed me during her time on DesiQuest, and Newbon and Wilde are both regular names in conversation in front of and behind the scenes as they play key companions in the blockbuster hit video game Baldur’s Gate III.
In addition to this new actual play show with a powerhouse cast getting up to speed, the official soundtrack has been released digitally to provide music to players and enthusiasts near and far, as both inspiration or even tracks to play at your own home games. This soundtrack by 5X-Grammy-nominated composer David Arkenstone is full of atmospheric moments that can bring grandeur, tension, and jubilation to your gaming table.
The Dungeons & Dragons: Dungeon Masters Official Soundtrack digital album is available now across most major streaming platforms. For those of you physical media fans like myself, there is a vinyl version also set for release in August 2026 that I will do my best to get my hands on so I can break down track for track impression for you.
