Just The Specials: ‘Pokémon X Goldfish’ Snack Preview

by Anton Kromoff

Welcome to the table,

Just the Specials is where your old pal Anton tries new, limited, and often pop-culture-adjacent menu items, food offerings, and branded collaborations that make their way onto the plate in front of him. It’s normally a fun time.

My pals at Goldfish recently reached out to let me know that my favorite video game franchise based around battling best-friend monsters was going to be part of their upcoming snack lineup so you know I had to dive in and see what that was all about!

Let’s get into it!

To celebrate Pokémon‘s 30th anniversary, Goldfish and Pokémon are joining forces to produce four limited-edition Goldfish packs featuring the Kanto starters and our best pal Pikachu.

Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle will be available at most retailers who stock the “snack that smiles back” while Pikachu will be hitting shelves exclusively at Walmart and Target.

While these snacks are going to have fun new colors and shapes, I have been told the baked never fried treats are going to have no artificial colors and come in the signature cheddar flavor.

On top of the cool Pokémon packages Goldfish is going to be starting a sweepstakes on May 1st that offers an all-expenses-paid trip to the Pokémon Fossil Museum at the Field Museum in Chicago along with additional prices and custom merch. You can find more information at Goldfishsweeps.com.

“Teaming up with Pokémon for this limited-edition launch is all about bringing fans a collaboration that feels fun, familiar, and made for sharing,” said Mike Fanelli, Senior Director, Goldfish. “As one of our biggest collaborations yet, this release combines the excitement of Pokémon that many parents grew up with – now reimagined for snack time with their kids. It also marks the first time Goldfish has released crackers in a single color, making this launching feel even more special”

Until next time, I will have full break down of these as soon as I can get my hands on them. If you find them before I do drop us a comment on Facebook or Bluesky and let us know what you think!
