Trailer Watch: ‘My Adventures With Superman’ Returns For An Epic Third Season

My Adventures With Superman is a winning mix of the best elements in action anime and superheroes. It is also the best contemporary incarnation of Superman and one of the favorite animated shows of all time — at least for this writer. The blend between shonen-type action and shoujo-style romantic drama brought in a whole new viewership of young men and women who may not have initially thought of themselves as Superman fans.
Jack Quaid plays Clark Kent as a relatable guy who lacks confidence, but makes up for it with heart. The true standout of the series is Alice Lee’s portrayal of Lois Lane. She’s handsome, charming, witty and unpredictable. I’m glad to see the return of Kiana Madeira‘s Supergirl — whose militaristic, Kryptonian upbringing made her an interesting wildcard within the roster of main characters. This season promises some iconic characters from 1990s Superman comics including Superboy and Cyborg Superman. The trailer also teased unusual additions to the rogues gallery like Giganta. Even as a long time fan, I have no idea what to expect and I can’t wait to find out!
Considering how good the series has been, I feel like it should be talked about more. If you haven’t jumped on board, I’d highly recommend checking it out. While the tone of the series is bright and colorful, the villains aren’t pulling any punches and the lighter tone makes the darker moments hit even harder.
With the success of this series there are also plans for a My Adventures With Green Lantern animated series. So grab your friends and get ready to look up at the sky. My Adventures With Superman returns June 13th.
