‘The Art Of Goosebumps’ Returns To Print From Dynamite

by Erik Amaya

R.L Stine‘s Goosebumps has captivated generations of kids with its particular brand of horror chills. A key part of the appeal: Tim Jacobus‘s cover illustrations that created a vibe for the series even as it made its way to television and, later, film. Previously, Dynamite released a collection of his work —  The Art of Goosebumps — and intends to bring back to the print this summer.

Per the company’s announcement on Tuesday, the book sees Jacobus, Stine, author Sarah Rodriguez, and designer Mark McNabb “unite for an exploration of the entire collection of books and covers within the Goosebumps series. Both new and longtime fans can witness the transformation of original pencil sketches into the finished artwork, along with numerous discarded designs.” The 200-page oversized hardcover also feature creator insights, and introduction from Stine, and more.

In a statement, Jacobus said, “This book is a big ‘Thanks!’ to the Goosebumps fans for their never ending support for my art … I’m honored to hold a spot in your collective memories that brings a smile. And of course, thank you Bob Stine, for taking me along on this epic ride. Cheers!”

The Art of Goosebumps makes it return to shelves soon.
