The tale of the Pumpkin Queen continues.
Dynamite announced Thursday the imminent arrival of Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Hour of The Pumpkin Queen from writer Amanda Deibert and artist Alessio Petillo. Carrying on from the company’s adaptation of Megan Shepard‘s Long Live The Pumpkin Queen novel, Jack and Sally have now been married for a year. She has taken on the duties of Halloween Town’s queen, but balancing them with relationships and expectations brings plenty of uncertainty to her life. Underlying this: her mission to promote “cooperation and peace to the citizens of all the holiday lands.”
But it’s also time to visit her parents in Dream Town, where “Sally sees something special in a patchwork girl named Luna Slumberly, and decides to take on the young girl as an apprentice.” Soon the pair find themselves in a new realm, Time Town, when a spell goes awry. The pair must find a way back and return Halloween Town to its proper place in the timestream. And as they travel to new realms — and encounter new friends and foes — Sally must decide if her anxieties can also be solved with a bit of time travel.
And it’s all told in a 240-page graphic novel available in both hardcover and softcover variants.
Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Hour of The Pumpkin Queen makes its way to comic shops on September 9th.
