Trailer Watch: ‘Blades Of The Guardians’ Looks Like A Martial Art Epic

Based on the bestselling Chinese manhua, Blades of the Guardians is directed by Yuen Woo-Ping — the action choreographer on The Matrix and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. The story centers on a bounty hunter and his nephew, both are on the run. It stars Wu Jing as the hero and sees the return of martial arts legend Jet Li as the lead villain.
The film clearly draws inspiration from westerns like True Grit, complete with wanted men and brawls in lowlife watering holes. There’s also a Mad Max: Fury Road-inspired sandstorm thrown into the mix for good measure. Overall, this looks like a thrilling martial arts epic!
Blades of the Guardians will be available on Digital June 30th.
