SDCC 2026 — Dynamite’s ‘Ben 10: Creator Files’ Special Issue To Take Fans Behind The Scenes This October

October is getting an extra special dose of Ben 10.
Dynamite announced Thursday it will publish Ben 10: Creator Files that month. The special issue will see the Man of Action team, series artist Robert Carey, and editor Matt Idelson offering fans “the ultimate behind-the-scenes tour on the series so far.” It also serves as a brief break between September’s Ben 10 #5 and November’s issue #6.
The issue is also priced and sized the same as a regular installment of Ben 10, meaning it truly is special. It’s almost like a director’s commentary on a fancy 4k UHD home video release. Features include a break down of “the major stages of comics creation, from the writer’s script, to Carey’s artwork, Ren Spiller‘s addition of colors, Taylor Esposito‘s lettering, and assembling it all together into the page readers receive.” It will also reprint material from the hard-to-find ashcan, “including a special interview with writer Joe Casey as well as a batch of character sketches showcasing Carey’s earliest work on the franchise in preparation for drawing the first issue.” Additional Carey design sketches, and a sneak peak of the next classic villain to be introduced into the new continuity will also appear in the Creator Files.
“We wanted to give the Ben 10 readers something really special, a ‘thank you’ for the support they’ve shown the series so far,” Man of Action partner Joe Casey said in a statement. “This Creator Files issue is jam-packed with extra material — including exclusive first-looks that we just couldn’t wait to show off!”
Supporting the special are covers from Carey and Casey’s Man of Action compatriot, Duncan Rouleau. Maintaining the spirit of the issue, both demonstrate the process of bring a cover to life — from initial sketch to finished colors. Casey will also sign a limited number of copies.
Ben 10: Creator Files is due out this October.
