SDCC 2026: Pierce Brown’s ‘Red Rising’ Prequel Omnibus Returns To Print Via Dynamite

Those who might have missed the previous release of Pierce Brown’s Red Rising: Sons of Ares prequel series won’t have to search for an old copy for much longer.

Dynamite announced Thursday that the omnibus edition of Songs of Ares will be back in print in the near future. The collection unites the trilogy of prequel graphic novels to Brown’s Red Rising. Written by Brown and Rik Hoskin with Eli Powell and Kewber Baal on art, the three-part prequel “fleshes out a fan-favorite universe that has been growing steadily for the last decade, spotlighting all-new characters and corners of the mythos.”

Set in a future where “humanity has colonized the stars, and an individual’s destiny is determined by their caste color,” Golds command the rest. But what happens when one of their number falls in love with a lower-caste Red? As the company puts it, “this forbidden romance alters the course of history, with shifting alliances set against a backdrop of upheaval, ultimately leading to the emergence of the powerful Sons of Ares and a transformation of the Rising world that lies ahead.”
