SDCC 2026: ‘Red Sonja & Barbarella’ To Tangle In Dynamite’s Cosmic Crossover

Red Sonja’s next crossover takes her to the stars.

Dynamite announced on Monday the upcoming Red Sonja & Barbarella from writer Homero Rios and artist Diego Yapur — both know for their work on Heavy Metal. But what could possible bring the two women together in one reality where there worlds are so very different?

According to the company’s press release, the answer revolves around  “one mystery” which brings them together. For Barbarella, it brings when she is tasked with retrieving a “black mirror tied to her past” The object may “hold the key to a life she barely remembers.” Meanwhile, Sonja’s attempt to an Oracle from their fate will lead her into a journey where “memory, destiny, desire, and survival all carry a heavy burden and price, and some debts are paid in blood.”

Supporting the debut issue are covers from Yapur, Joseph Michael Linsner, Collette Turner, and IvyCosplay, who portrays both women on two separate covers. Additionally, Dynamite’s blind bag program will reveal additional exclusive variants and “the rarest versions of the comic.”

Red Sonja & Barbarella arrives in stores this November.
