SDCC 2026: Recharge At Hulu Animayhem: Fandom Fuel Up With Food And Places To Rest

Hulu Animayhem has been a staple as a San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) offsite activation. This year they moved their location from behind the convention center near the water over to the Palm Trees Garden in the Gaslamp Quarter.
Hulu Animayhem: Fandom Fuel Up features Futurama and King of the Hill. The new location feels smaller than most years, and it doesn’t have the fun games either. What it does provide as the name states, is an excellent opportunity to recharge and catch a second wind before heading back to SDCC.
Both series provide tasteful food and drink. On the Futurama side, since the company has changed their name to Planet Espresso, are coffee drinks including a cold brew, a lavender latte, and an espresso served over ice. You can also ask for an espresso served hot. As a snack, they have Dark Matter chocolate donut holes that look a little like Nibbler’s poo. They can be served plain, with chocolate sprinkles, or with chocolate glaze. The photo opportunity is the best part where you can pose as a humanoid specimen of a head in a jar.
If you need a little rest, there are comfy bean bags in front of a screen, previewing many of Hulu’s animated series.
Over on the King of the Hill side you can dine in Bobby’s restaurant Robata Chane. They have a variety of skewers to choose from either beef, chicken, or veggie. It comes with your choice of sauce (which are either chili, sweet soy, or teriyaki) and a drink. Afterwards, grab an ice cold can of Alamo (sparkling water) and pose with Hank and the rest of boys next to the wood fence.
As far as SWAG, there are two choices — either a red Alamo hat or a black Planet Espresso hat.
Some might be a little disappointed with the Hulu Animayhem: Fandom Fuel Up compared to previous years, but it did provide some great eats and the food and photo ops still capture the spirit of the shows with clever themes.
