‘Kickboxer 2’ Fighting Its Way To Blu-ray And Digital Courtesy Of Vestron Video

Vestron is teaming up with Lionsgate to unleash the brutal 1991 martial arts sequel Kickboxer 2 on Blu-ray and Digital as the 41st title in their long-running Collectors Series.
Jean-Claude Van Damme‘s not around this time — although he did receive a “Story By” credit alongside screenwriter David S. Goyer (Blade, the Dark Knight trilogy) — but there’s still plenty of kicking, boxing and kickboxing to be seen. Following the events of the first film and the off-screen death Van Damme’s heroic Kurt Sloan, his kid brother David (Sasha Mitchell) is tricked into a re-match against the first film’s villain, Tong Po (regular JCVD opponent Michel Qissi).
Directed by B-movie legend Albert Pyun (Cyborg, 1990’s Captain America), it also stars Dennis Chan, Peter Boyle, Brian Austin Green, and Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa.
Special features include a commentary with film historians Mike Leeder and Russell Wait, interviews with cast and crew members, stills, trailers, and more.
Kickboxer 2 arrives September 15th.
