Tom Sniegoski Returns For ‘Vampirella: Paradise’

Is Vampi’s afterlife the gift it seems?

Dynamite’s Vampirella: Paradise returns to Tom Sniegoski‘s ongoing Daughter of Drakulon tale. In the previous installment, Vampirella Armageddon, the Almighty offered Vampirella a paradise to dwell within. But that hereafter is not as it seems when old foes like the Mad God of Chaos and the Blood Red Queen of Hearts make their presence known and corrupt Vampi’s new world. Despite the threat, Sniegoski is approaching this from an interesting standpoint: what if his Vampi finally caught a break?

The writer’s journey with the character goes all the way back to the 1990s and continues with the hope that she can once again defeat the darkness and, maybe, get some decent rest.

“She’s been part of my professional writing career for basically as long as I’ve had a professional writing career! I don’t think I ever really expected to have the kind of relationship that I have with her. Initially, way back when in the nineties, I thought I would write her for a bit, and move on, but the more I wrote her, her world, and the many characters that she interacts with, I found a nearly never-ending source of material,” Sniegoski said in a statement. “Just when I think I might be done, she pokes me in the brain and says, ‘what if we did this?’ I love the opportunity to come up with new stories to tell about her that continue to excite me, and hopefully excite the fans of the character. I know I’ve said this before, but writing Vampirella brings me great comfort. It’s like slipping into a nice warm sweater on a really cold day.”

Joining him on art is Edu Menna, while the cover artist roster includes Francesco Mattina, Joseph Michael Linsner, Josephine Tomarchio, and cosplayer Lauren Delorean. Additionally, blind bags variants will be available.

Vampirella: Paradise arrives this November.
