by Olly MacNamee

Co-writers Mark Elijah Rosenberg (Approaching the Unknown, Year Million) and Matthew Rosenberg (We’re Taking Everyone Down With Us, 4 Kids Walk Into A Bank) with artist Andy MacDonald (Doctor Strange, Wonder Woman), colourist Francesco Segala, and letterer Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou are having the first story arc of their series If Destruction Be Our Lot, Vol. 1. collected as a trade paperback by Image Comics. This trade collects the first four issues and will be out in November.

Here’s a reminder and preview of what this sci-fi story of a Robot society left behind after humans went extinct is all about:

“If Destruction Be Our Lot is a must-read that blends the personality and wit of  The Murderbot Diaries with the thematic depth of A Psalm for the Wild-Built and the expansive world-building of Fallout.

In If Destruction Be Our Lot, humanity is extinct and all that remains are the robots who once helped us. The robots are happier now, doing their work without human interference. But not Abe, a robotic replicant of Abraham Lincoln in search of meaning beyond the daily grind. Abe believes there must be something more out there beyond the edge of the city. After nearly getting killed, he’s determined to wander the Earth until he finds it … or gets recycled trying.”

If Destruction Be Our Lot, Vol. 1 trade paperback is out in comic book stores on Wednesday, 7th October and in bookstores on Tuesday, 3rd November from Image Comics.
