The latest video game meets comics moment happens now, as 2000 AD ushers in Silent Hill: Townfall — The Dock House …

There’s a link between 2000 AD and video gaming, seeing as the comic is published by Rebellion, the software house behind Sniper Elite, Atomfall, and the whole Aliens vs Predator series (the game that turned me off video games for life, triggering motion sickness every time I tried to play it – oh, old man syndrome right there.)
And their latest comics meets video games moment comes in the form of Silent Hill: Townfall — The Dock House, coming your way in 2000 AD Prog 2500, published on 16 September in the UK, and from 30 Sept in the USA.
In this latest bit of video games meets comics event, 2000 AD is collaborating with Konami Digital Entertainment to create an original comic story inspired by the world of Silent Hill: Townfall. The new story, Silent Hill: Townfall — The Dock House, is written by lead writer and game director Jon McKellan and drawn by David Roach, promising to be the ‘official narrative companion to the upcoming game.’
It all starts in 2000 AD Prog 2500, one of those 2000 AD jumping-on Progs where it’s all-new storylines happening, and ahead of the Silent Hill: Townfall video game release on PlayStation5, Steam, and the Epic Games Store on September 24.

Here’s a little bit of the 2000 AD blurb for this one …
“Silent Hill: Townfall — The Dock House offers fans an additional perspective on the isolated island community of St. Amelia, expanding upon the haunting world and atmosphere of Silent Hill: Townfall while preserving the mysteries awaiting players in the game.
The story follows Douglas, a veteran harbour master who has spent decades maintaining St. Amelia’s dock house. Trapped in an endless routine surrounded by fog and isolation, Douglas discovers an impossible staircase descending beneath the harbour, forcing him to confront a terrifying reality hidden beneath the surface of the town.’
It looks very much like something that fits well into 2000 AD, all the atmospheric horror of Silent Hill, perfectly complemented by David Roach’s moody, eerie artwork.
Jon McKellan, Townfall writer and director at Screen Burn, had this to say:
“It’s incredibly exciting to expand the world of SILENT HILL: Townfall with a new short story, and a personal milestone for me as a writer to get a chance to contribute to an issue!. It feels especially fitting for a game set in the UK to feature in a UK national treasure like 2000 AD, and watching David bring the words to life has been a joy. I’m excited for readers to experience a slice of the world we’ve built, and discover its connection to the game.”
