Bendis, Gaydos, & Mack Reunite For The 25th Anniversary Of ‘Jessica Jones: Alias’

In 2001, Marvel Comics debuted Alias, a mature readers series starring super-powered private detective Jessica Jones. The Marvel Universe would never be the same.

Created by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos, with stunning painted covers by David Mack, Alias was Marvel’s first mature readers series set in the prime Marvel Universe. Jessica was a hard-luck PI, who was gradually integrated more and more into the Marvel Universe, ending up a key hero in the universe, married to Luke Cage, and serving with the Avengers. Currently, she’s the First Lady of New York City, while still trying to be true to herself.

In December, the creative team reunites in a new five-issue limited series — Jessica Jones: Alias. What starts as a simple abduction case drags Jessica into the most obscure and bizarre corners of the Marvel Universe, as she finds herself tested like never before.

“Jessica has, since her debut, been something very different in my life,” Bendis told EW. “There’s something very emotional and intimate about the way [people] talk about her. It’s always been the best kind of conversation you could ever hope to have with readers. People see themselves in her and love her and root for her. All of that is in this series.”
