Unboxing WizKids’ ‘G.I.Joe HeroClix Iconix: Cobra Edition’
by Anton Kromoff
Welcome to the table,
We all know that knowing is half the battle. When Cobra Commander, The Baroness, Destro, and Storm Shadow are on the battlefield … the other half might be surviving long enough to get the heck out of there!
My pals at WizKids sent over the epic G.I. Joe Cobra HeroClix Iconix set, and I’m unboxing it to take a closer look at four of Cobra’s most infamous members.
Sets like this are so much fun because they’re not just about collecting characters you recognize. They’re another way to experience a universe you already love. If you’re a G.I. Joe fan who has never played HeroClix, this could be your gateway into the game. If you’re a HeroClix player who grew up with G.I. Joe, you can put some of the most recognizable characters from your childhood on the battlefield.
I keep thinking about trying to track down favorites from my youth and seeing the cost on the secondary market and not engaging in the collecting because of the price. So if WizKids does more Clix like this, I would just add them to the shelf, and they would serve as brilliant little nostalgia tokens that remind me of my strange youth.
Until next time, knowing is half the battle!
