‘Vampirella’ #8 To Feature Artist Ziyan Qiu
by Erik Amaya
Vampi is embracing manga.
Writer Christopher Priest continues his long-term Vampirella epic with the eighth issue of the current ongoing series. In the upcoming chapter, the Daughter of Drakulon “reels from medication, [and] she finds herself in a world where she must honor the Eastern tradition of wǔdé, or ‘martial virtue.'” Supporting the storyline — “modeled after and a tribute to the legacy of manga, manwha, and manhua” — is special guest artist and SCAD alumni Ziyan Qiu. As Dynamite put it, “their unique style is captured in the traditional black & white for Eastern comics, with some special spot color.
All variants of the issue come with a special back cover by Nishi Lee.
If you are interested in the issue, head over to your local comic book shop and let them know. Final order cutoff for the Vampirella #8 is Monday November 2nd. It is due for release on November 15th.
